BREAKING: Connie’s Diner in Waterloo suffers major interior damage after structure fire.
First responders were called to the scene of a major structure fire at a Waterloo staple during the mid-morning hours on Monday. The damage was extensive inside and now its under investigation.
Reports of a structure fire came in to our newsroom a little before 10 a.m. minutes after firefighters were dispatched to Connie’s Diner on 5&20.
Traffic was initially shut down along 5&20 as crews from Ontario and Seneca counties responded to the scene. The restaurant, which is closed on Mondays, suffered extensive damage to the interior section.
The fire was reportedly brought under control within 20 minutes of firefighters arriving on scene. However, that was long enough for fire, smoke, and water damage to be documented around the property.
