Red Jacket Orchards announces closure of Geneva farm store.
Business is flourishing, but there will be a major change for Red Jacket Orchards. In a letter to customers, CEO Brian Nicholson said that despite massive growth in business the farm store that has become a mainstay along 5&20 in Geneva will not reopen. Nicholson added that Red Jacket will move forward with its mission to “inspire purposeful, healthy choices through delicious and nutritious foods. We will re-purpose the retail location by seeking a business to lease out and add even more value to the community.”
Finger Lakes Cider Trail gets ready for busy summer: “We have world class cider.”
This week the Finger Lakes Cider Trail will celebrate its official launch. Cider Week just wrapped up, and for an industry that’s been growing rapidly over the last several years in the region – having a trail is a welcomed change. Erica Merwin from Black Diamond, who spoke with us about the launch of the of the trail, said watching cider’s popularity grow regionally-and-beyond over the last several years has been interesting.
