Latest on high-speed chase through Yates County
A Rochester man led Yates County deputies and Penn Yan police on a high-speed chase early Monday morning, reaching speeds over 100 mph. Officers successfully ended the chase by deploying spike strips, which disabled the vehicle in the Village of Penn Yan. The suspect, Leonard L. Henry, 50, was arrested without further incident and later turned over to Geneva police for unrelated charges.
Finger Lakes Forecast: Mild, muggy, and showers.
Warm, humid weather will persist across the Finger Lakes and Central New York through Wednesday, as a slow-moving system pulls moisture into the region. Scattered showers will continue today, with some breaks of sunshine expected despite increasing humidity. On Wednesday, light rain and isolated thunderstorms may develop, especially in the Southern Tier, as dewpoints rise and temperatures remain above average. A brief break is expected Thursday, but a stronger storm arriving Friday could bring widespread showers and thunderstorms into the weekend.
