The Village of Penn Yan Board will review more than two dozen agenda items at its meeting this week, including a $18,975 change order for water line work and key personnel decisions. Officials will vote on summer staff hires, promotions, and a new recreation program accountability policy aimed at improving discipline and parent conduct. Financial actions include a $95,000 fund transfer, a $268,000 infrastructure grant drawdown, and support for a $180,000 Spuds Diner rehab project. Other items range from utility agreements to equipment rentals and a new appointment to the Historic Preservation Commission.

Wayne County Sheriff’s Lt. Matthew Hilkert has graduated from the FBI National Academy, a selective 10-week training program for top law enforcement leaders. He completed advanced coursework, earned 18 college credits, and conquered the Academy’s demanding physical challenges, including the “yellow brick road” obstacle course.
