A person was hospitalized Sunday evening following a violent assault on Washington Street in Auburn. Police issued a public alert around 4:30 p.m. to avoid the area near West and Wall Streets due to an active crime scene. The road has since reopened, and authorities say there is no ongoing threat to the public.
