Hostage situation in Yates County? Residents were told to shelter in place yesterday afternoon.
Details are limited, but first responders have confirmed that law enforcement agencies were involved in a standoff yesterday in the village of Rushville. According to the Yates County Sheriff's Office residents in part of the village were asked to shelter in place as they deal with a hostage situation. The victim was ultimately freed, however, details about the suspect were not available as of Tuesday morning.
