Newark man charged with attempted murder: Deputies say he stabbed woman multiple times before fleeing

A Newark man has been arrested by the Wayne County Office of the Sheriff following a violent attack in the town of Arcadia. Chet A. Dewolf, 22, was charged with second-degree attempted murder and first-degree assault. The victim was airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital and remains in critical condition.

It was another action packed Sectional Final weekend for Wayne-Finger Lakes teams. After a brief weather delay moving games from Friday to Saturday and Sunday, teams were able to hit the hardwood at Blue Cross Arena and Rush-Henrietta. Jim Sinicropi, Kyle Evans, Nate Sharman, and Paul Russo recap all the games and discuss the important factors that made the difference in the games. With the Sectional Finals in the rearview mirror, focus now shifts to Sectional Playdowns and the Far West Regional.

FingerLakes1.com will be live from Penn Yan as they host the Section V Class B Girls Basketball Playdown. The Class B1 champion Waterloo Tigers take on the Class B2 champion Hornell Red Raiders.
