A vibrant new mural titled “Welcome to Auburn,” designed by Arthur the Artist, has been installed above Nash’s Framing & Art in downtown Auburn. The mural showcases the city’s landmarks through a vintage postcard style, reflecting its historic surroundings while presenting a fresh modern look. Restaurant Review: The Main Deck in Penn Yan is a great spot.
We headed to the Main Deck in Penn Yan on a rainy Saturday night to try out the new restaurant at the former Sarrasin’s location on the north end of Keuka Lake. The menu selections are full of ingredients from local farms and the wine, beer and cocktail menu has local offerings as well. Great venue, super friendly staff and solid food with locally sourced ingredients.
New rules for dealing with unruly fans or parents at high school athletic events.
The New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) executive committee has approved a new spectator sportsmanship regulation to address unruly behavior during high school games. The “three strikes and you’re out” policy will be implemented starting in the Fall of 2023. NYSPHSAA Executive Director Robert Zayas explained that parent behavior has been monitored for several years, and the association believes that if student-athletes and coaches are held to a certain standard, parents should be as well. Instances of parents acting inappropriately during high school competitions are not uncommon.
Waterloo man accused of stealing $544K from employer.
State police say a Waterloo man redirected more than $1.8 million of his employer’s money into his own bank account. The investigation spanned months, and determined than more than $544,000 was stolen during three years of employment.
