After years of planning, Finger Lakes Health will join URMC becoming UR Medicine Finger Lakes Health
Finger Lakes Health is joining the University of Rochester Medical Center system effective August 1. Officials from both institutions made the announcement at a news conference on Thursday. The affiliation will maintain and expand access to high-quality health services close to home in the communities of eastern Ontario, Seneca, Yates, and Wayne counties served by Finger Lakes Health, officials said in an announcement. It follows a recently signed agreement to collaborate with New York State Attorney General Letitia James to ensure the affiliation meets the health-care needs of Finger Lakes residents.
Concerned Citizens, not Town of Seneca Falls, file notice of appeal against ruling overturning Local Law 3
Attorney Doug Zamelis, representing Waterloo Container, town of Waterloo property owner Dixie Lemmon, and Concerned Citizens of Seneca County, has filed a notice of appeal against the judgment overturning the town’s Local Law 3-2016. The notice follows a June 9 decision by state Supreme Court Judge Dan Doyle to invalidate the law. Zamelis intends to assert that the Town Board correctly adhered to the State Environmental Quality Review process when implementing Local Law 3-2016, a key issue in Doyle’s decision.
