Daughter charged with manslaughter, DWI after killing mother in Wayne County
A woman was arrested in Wayne County on July 23 following a fatal accident. According to State Police, they responded to a report of a vehicle striking a pedestrian on East Port Bay Road in the village of Wolcott around 12:40 a.m. Despite life-saving measures attempted at the scene by Emergency Medical Services and Troopers, Annette M. Naab, could not be saved. She sustained severe injuries from the incident and was pronounced dead at Newark Wayne Community Hospital.
20-year-old drowns in Lake Ontario near Chimney Bluffs: Deputies say lack of swimming experience, wave action contributed
The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office provided an update on a death by drowning in Lake Ontario near the Chimney Bluffs State Park in Huron. It happened Saturday, when deputies received a 911 call for help around 2:07 p.m., stating that two people were struggling in the water – having trouble reaching safety.
Emergency personnel responded where one male, a 28-year-old, had just been pulled to shore and a woman, approximately 20-years-old, had gone under water. Bystanders on the shore ran into the water and used a life jacket to secure the 28-year-old male and pull him to safety. Several people attempted to locate the 20-year-old, but ultimately could not.

The ‘Spotted Duck’ located in Penn Yan has been voted as America’s best ice cream shop in a challenge initiated by popular YouTuber Cohen Thompson. Thompson, who has over 486,000 subscribers, sought out viewer recommendations for the competition, with ‘Spotted Duck’ frequently nominated. Despite the competition from ice cream shops across 48 states, ‘Spotted Duck’ managed to secure a high rating of 9.7, eventually clinching the top spot.
