Orbaker’s has new owners: Wayne County staple will get upgrades soon.
Bob and Dawn Heintzelman, a local couple who once predicted owning Orbaker’s Drive In, have now taken over the historic Wayne County. Bob Heintzelman, who worked at the restaurant as a teenager, along with his wife, will manage the iconic burger and ice cream restaurant while also operating their 9-year-old barbecue business, Heintzelman’s BBQ Pit. Orbaker’s Drive-In, which first opened in 1932 and was bought by Bill O’Hara in the 1960s, has passed into new ownership after remaining in the O’Hara family for over 60 years. Some minor refurbishments are planned for the place, and future prospects include online ordering services, a mini-golf course, paving the parking lot, and organizing bike nights and car shows.
Boating advisory on Canandaigua Lake extended due to debris, heavy rain.
In the aftermath of heavy rains, the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office has extended the boating advisory on Canandaigua Lake in the Finger Lakes due to significant debris, including large tree logs, present in the water. The debris, washed into the lake by the recent downpour, poses a risk to water vessels with even small sticks capable of causing severe damage. While authorities work to clear the water, boaters are urged to reduce speed and exercise extra caution to avoid damage to their motors or engines.
