Odor issues, signage, and comprehensive plan included in Seneca Falls Town Board meeting
During this week’s Seneca Falls Town Board Meeting, the Town opened with an acknowledgment of the sewer and gas smell on Route 414. Town Supervisor Mike Ferrara said the Water and Sewer department had been up there most of the day and is still trying to diagnose the issue. The Town has been in contact with Seneca Meadows, but the Town was still investigating the matter last night. For the time being, SMI will be halting leachate from entering the treatment system.
Attempted murder, arson charges filed in Seneca County after man attempts to set child on fire: Another victim airlifted with head injuries
Law enforcement officials gathered at the Seneca County Jail on Wednesday to give an update on an intense investigation following an attack on Tuesday involving two young children. The victims, who were one- and four- years old suffered injuries that required hospitalization. “This case has been a tough case for the officers involved,” Undersheriff John Cleere said as the press conference began. “There’s been a lot of rumors circulating, a lot of speculation.”

In this episode, we talked with Laura Edwards, who is a case worker with the Ontario County Department of Social Services Foster Homefinding Unit, and with foster parent Mandy Friend Gigliotti. Mandy told us her story, that she and her husband didn’t necessarily want more kids, but they felt they still had more to give. We talked about the first meeting, the challenge of parenting a foster child with your own kids still in the house and coping with the fear that you’re not doing it right. Mandy told us Laura and the people in the Homefinding Unit are there to answer questions and help deal with the challenges.
