UPDATE: One dead after single-car accident shuts down Rt. 89 in Seneca Falls
New details have been released regarding the accident that shut down State Route 89 for several hours on Wednesday. The Seneca Falls Police Department, EMTs from North Seneca Ambulance and Seneca Falls Fire Department personnel responded to a report of a vehicle in the ditch on Route 89 south of the entrance to the Cayuga Lake State Park in the Town of Seneca Falls early Wednesday morning.
Alleged rodent infestation under investigation at Clyde-Savannah school
The New York State Department of Health is currently looking into reports of rodent infestations at Clyde-Savannah schools located in Wayne County. An inspector was sent to the site on Tuesday to assess the situation and assist the health department in determining the scope of the issue.
One dog dies, another saved after house fire in Bath
On Wednesday a home at 8760 State Route 53 in the town of Wheeler was engulfed in flames, resulting in extensive fire and smoke damage. At 10:13 a.m., the Bath Volunteer Fire Department was alerted to the incident by a passerby who noticed smoke emanating from the house. The witness was unsure if the house was occupied at the time and reported smoke on both floors.
Farmington woman guilty in $20,000 Geneva dental practice theft
A 30-year-old woman from Farmington has been convicted of felony grand larceny after stealing over $20,000 from a dental practice in Geneva where she worked. Breanna Reed was found guilty of fourth-degree grand larceny by an Ontario County Court jury on Monday following four hours of deliberation.
