One dead after jumping from moving Amtrak train
First responders in Cayuga County were called to a portion of CSX tracks outside the village of Weedsport after a person jumped from a moving train. That person died at the scene, according to Sheriff Brian Schenck, who provided an update late-Saturday.
Report released on Ontario County Sheriff’s Office investigation
An Ontario County Board of Supervisors investigation committee has released its report of the investigation into allegations of wrongdoing by former Sheriff Kevin Henderson and others within the department.
DEC will require impact statement for Seneca Meadows valley infill expansion
The DEC has determined that the expansion may have a negative environmental impact. Now, a Draft Environmental Impact Statement will be necessary if they want to expand.
Second COVID-19 booster now available to many New Yorkers
Governor Kathy Hochul made the announcement Sunday. You can get the second booster dose if you’re 50 or older, if you’re 18-49 and originally received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, also known as the Jansen vaccine, or if you’re immunocompromised. In all cases, it must be at least four months since the first booster dose.
