Police: Suspects sought after shooting at Auburn bar leaves worker with two gunshot wounds
Police are looking for the person responsible after a shooting at Lavish Lounge on Genesee St. in Auburn. An employee was shot twice in the torso after two large fights occurred outside the bar.

MANTIUS: Challenging times for Hochul, but DEC’s Greenidge decision could be significant moment
It would be easy for a distracted governor to underestimate the importance of the environmental ruling her Department of Environmental Conservation will make later this week. So easy to issue marching orders to the agency that seem to serve her political interests even if they conflict with the repeated fact-based stands taken by DEC Commissioner Basil Seggos.
South Seneca schools create middle, high school principal positions
“We’ve received a lot of community feedback this spring that our lines of communication aren’t as effective as they used to be, with the principal-assistant principal model spreading both out over seven grade levels,” Superintendent Zielinski said of the move. The current assistance principal for grades 6-12, Melissa Butler, will become middle school principal. The high school principal position is going to be advertised.
Gov. Hochul signs bills into law expanding gender designations, establishing equity fund
Over the weekend Governor Kathy Hochul signed a pair of bills honoring Pride Month. The first bill establishes the Lorena Borjas Transgender Wellness and Equity Fund to support organizations that provide critical services for the transgender, gender non-conforming, and non-binary community. The second bill will add a non-binary gender X to the potential options for gender designations in elected positions that require that the elected people be of varying genders.
One hospitalized, no tickets issued after vehicle, scooter collide in Walmart parking lot
The pedestrian fell off of the scooter sand suffered an abrasion to his head and arm, according to police. The pedestrian was suffering from neck pain and was subsequently transported by ambulance to Geneva General Hospital. No property damage was reported to the vehicle or scooter and no tickets were issued.
