Canandaigua’s Shootout for Soldiers: A unifying force supporting local vets through community spirit.
For Dr. Geoffry Hallstead giving back to the community has been an essential part of doing business in the Canandaigua area. Dentistry was in his genes, but so was giving back. “It was part of my family growing up,” he recalled in a conversation spotlighting the Shootout for Soldiers, an event near-and-dear to his heart. Dr. Hallstead’s father was a dentist, and at about 9-years-old he knew that was what he wanted to do with his life. He has become a major supporter and proponent of the Shootout for Soldiers, which is happening Saturday, July 29 and 30 at Canandaigua Academy. It’s a 24-hour lacrosse marathon benefitting veterans charities and services.
