Second suspect from Waterloo sought in Geneva manslaughter case taken into custody
The second suspect wanted in connection with a manslaughter investigation in Geneva has been taken into custody. Authorities said Lacritia Verstraete was taken into custody in the town of Canandaigua. Earlier this month, a 44-year-old from Waterloo was found after two people allegedly dumped his body near Geneva General Hospital following a medical emergency.

A SUNY Cortland professor was found dead after going missing on Monday, according to the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office. Muteb Alqahtani, 40, was an associate professor with the college’s Childhood/Early Childhood Education Department. The investigation is active, but authorities do not suspect foul play.
