Structure fire in Seneca Falls under investigation
Hours after firefighters brought a Seneca Falls blaze under control, a fire investigation team was requested. The initial cause appears to be electrical, but East Bayard Street was shut down for hours.
Thunderstorms bring heavy rain, leaving behind flooded roads in the Finger Lakes
It wasn't severe weather - at least not the widespread variety - but it did cause some inconveniences for folks traveling around Ontario, Seneca, and Wayne counties. Hundreds were left without power in Wayne County, and roads were flooded in Seneca County.
Either way, the visuals were impressive as summertime thunderstorms rolled through the area.
Structure fire leaves home severely damaged in Canandaigua
Firefighters from more than a half dozen departments were called to Adams Drive in Canandaigua on Wednesday during the afternoon hours. A home along the lake was seriously damaged. The cause remains under investigation.

Penn Yan Airport gets solar-powered lighting
The Penn Yan Airport is the first of its kind. It's the first airport in the U.S. to have solar lighting from the FAA. The FAA is using Penn Yan's airport to study how solar-powered lighting and signs along runways and taxiways could improve airfield lighting.
