The COVID-19 pandemic prompted NYSED to launch the โsnow day pilotโ program, which aimed to make at-home learning an option for schools who exceed their allotted number of snow days. Most districts who took advantage of the program are downstate, though the trial was in place for all New York schools.

A professor at Hobart and William Smith Colleges (HWS) wrote a play based on the gatherings of suffragists that used to be held at Fossenvue on the shores of Seneca Lake in Geneva. Fossenvue is the former summer retreat that hosted Geneva suffragists Elizabeth Smith Miller, Anne Fitzhugh Miller and their companions for decades up until 1920.

Deputies: Cause of Bristol fire remains under investigation
On Sunday around 4 p.m. deputies, along with firefighters from Richmond, Naples, Cheshire, Bristol, Atlanta, East Bloomfield, West Bloomfield, Cohocton, Prattsburg, and Middlesex responded to a residence on State Route 21 for a structure fire. All residents were able to escape, according to deputies, and no injuries were reported. However, the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
One hospitalized after van pulls in front of sedan at 414/Thruway intersection in Tyre
The Seneca County Sheriffโs Office provided an update on the crash that happened at the intersection of State Route 414 and the New York State Thruway on-ramp in the town of Tyre. On Saturday around 9:45 p.m. deputies responded to the intersection for a two vehicle crash with injuries.
