Clifton Springs rest area in Ontario County: When will Chick-fil-A open?
Last week the Thruway Authority announced the official opening of the Clifton Springs Service Area in Ontario County. It was a big moment for travelers who previously relied on that location heading east along the Thruway between Rochester and Syracuse.
It’s the fifth service area to reopen as part of the $450 million project executed by Applegreen. The Clifton Springs rest area is significantly larger than the Junius Ponds location that opened last year. It spans 20,000 square feet and is triple the size of the first three that opened.
The rest stop now features a drive-thru Starbucks, Shake Shack, and will soon feature Chick-fil-A and Auntie Anne’s.
