Wayne County Humane Society gets major funding for new shelter
The Wayne County Humane Society received a significant boost with a $1.5 million donation from Tom Golisano and $689,438 from the county’s 2025 budget. The funds, derived from interest on American Rescue Plan Act allocations, will help build a modern 9,800-square-foot shelter. Combined with prior state grants, the project aims to enhance care, adoption services, and educational outreach for the community.
