A tragic two-vehicle crash at the intersection of County Road 6 and Billsboro Road in the town of Geneva resulted in one fatality on Thursday, according to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office. Following an investigation related to the former Macedon Police Chief Fabian Rivera’s DWI charges, Sergeant Brigette Goodfriend has resigned from the Macedon Police Department. The inquiry stemmed from a November 2023 incident where Rivera, then Chief, was involved in a crash while driving a patrol vehicle and was subsequently charged with DWI in two towns. Court documents revealed that Goodfriend, after reviewing video evidence of the crash, confirmed Rivera’s culpability and later drove him home, where he allegedly drove under the influence again in his personal vehicle.
