Prosecutors get guilty verdict in ‘outrageous’ attempted murder case involving Geneva man
A Geneva man has been convicted on attempted murder, conspiracy, assault, and weapons charges after a trial in Ontario County. Prosecutors say it detailed the “unspeakable acts of Lovett in not only shooting and attempting to kill the victim in January 2023 but then hiring what he thought was a hitman to kill the same person in the Spring 2023 to prevent the man from testifying against him.”

The Romulus Central School District Board of Education announced the appointment of Mrs. Jennifer Hayden as the new Superintendent of Schools during a special meeting held on Thursday. A recent analysis by State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli revealed that food insecurity in New York has worsened, with approximately 875,000 families (11.3% of households) struggling to secure enough food between 2020 and 2022 due to financial constraints. All NYSEG and RG&E customers will get smart meters: How will they work? How soon will they be rolled out?
NYSEG and RG&E have begun the rollout of advanced smart meters to their customers across upstate New York, aiming to modernize energy usage tracking for over 1.5 million service points. These new devices, which transmit hourly power usage and meter status wirelessly, will replace traditional meters unless customers opt out. Installation started recently and will continue through at least 2025, with about 460,000 smart meters already in place.
