Police, Clyde-Savannah school investigates alleged attack involving several football players
Officials in the Clyde-Savannah Central School District say law enforcement is investigating after an incident involving members of the varsity football team. A parent in the district, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the incident involved an alleged assault that happened on district property. They alleged that multiple students assaulted a younger student. The alleged assault was apparently recorded on a smartphone and shared among students before police were ultimately notified.
Former Addison clerk accused of stealing $1.1M while serving in official capacity
Ursula Stone, the former clerk-treasurer of the Village of Addison, has been arrested under charges of embezzling over $1.1 million from village coffers. The arrest follows an extensive investigation involving New York State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli, Steuben County District Attorney Brooks Baker, and the New York State Police, uncovering a scheme that spanned nearly two decades.
Over $108M coming for water infrastructure upgrades: Auburn wins $3.7M
Governor Kathy Hochul has announced that the Environmental Facilities Corporation Board of Directors has approved over $108.8 million in assistance for water infrastructure projects across New York State. Two include $551,907 short-term interest-free financing $377,609 short-term market-rate financing, and $183,969 WIIA grant for the planning, design and construction of collection system improvements for the town of Newfield, and $3,720,000 WIIA grant for the comprehensive rehabilitation of the Slow Sand Filtration Plant and Rapid Sand Filtration Plant, including structural, electrical, architectural, HVAC and process mechanical improvements in Auburn.
