Ontario County corrections officer cleared of wrongdoing in eavesdropping case
A grand jury in Ontario County has cleared a sheriff’s corrections officer of eavesdropping charges, concluding that the evidence was not sufficient to establish reasonable cause for the alleged crimes. Adam Broadwell, a 20-year veteran of the sheriff’s office, was initially charged with a felony count of eavesdropping, along with misdemeanor counts of possession of an eavesdropping device and official misconduct, earlier this year.

Canandaigua man killed, three others hospitalized after crash in Livingston County
Authorities say a Canandaigua man was killed in a car crash in Livingston County last week. The sheriff’s office say they were called to East Main Street around 5:30 a.m. on October 17. Investigators say a large truck was pulling a trailer out of a parking lot when the trailer broke away and rolled into the road. The trailer blocked the eastbound lane and part of the westbound lane, as a vehicle with four occupants collided with it.
Skaneateles man killed in crash where Ithaca driver tried accelerating around him
A tragic multi-vehicle collision on state Route 13 in the town of Veteran resulted in one fatality and significant traffic disruptions Thursday morning. New York State Police responded to the crash at 8:20 a.m. The preliminary investigation indicates that a 2019 Chevy Silverado with an attached trailer, operated by a 25-year-old Pine Valley resident, was merging left due to a lane ending.
