Driver flees scene of deadly hit-and-run that left 1-year-old dead, Sheriff Ryan says
The Yates County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal hit-and-run accident that occurred on Thursday along State Route 364 in the Town of Benton. A one-year-old child was struck by a vehicle traveling westbound on Route 364. The driver fled the scene, and the investigation is ongoing.

Governor Kathy Hochul has highlighted New York State’s distribution of $2.3 billion in tax relief to nearly three million residents through the School Tax Relief (STAR) program. Designed to provide property tax exemptions and credits to eligible homeowners and senior citizens, the STAR program has already delivered relief to more than two million residents, with the remainder expected to receive benefits in the coming weeks.
