WINTER WEATHER ADVISORIES EXTENDED INTO TUESDAY
Parts of the Finger Lakes remain under Winter Weather Advisories as lake effect snowfall continues to sweep through the region, bringing accumulation and travel disruptions. The National Weather Service (NWS) extended advisories for Wayne, Northern Cayuga, Madison, Southern Cayuga, and Onondaga counties until 1 p.m. Tuesday, warning of snow accumulations ranging from 4 to 9 inches in localized areas.

A sergeant and five officers from the Five Points Correctional Facility were hospitalized following a harrowing incident when an inmate set fire to his cell in the Residential Rehabilitation Unit. And finally, one of Canandaigua’s most-prominent leaders is speaking out after a tragic house fire on Jefferson Avenue claimed a life Saturday morning. The fire broke out shortly before 9 a.m., with heavy smoke visible as firefighters arrived. One individual was trapped inside and rescued but died before reaching the hospital.
