Despite public opposition, the Seneca County Board of Supervisors will work with the Cayuga Nation. At it’s December meeting, the board voted to maintain the joint statement issued on December 6, announcing “a new era of cooperation between Seneca County and the Cayuga Nation.” [Read More]
The former Bombardier plant in Auburn, which has been vacant since 2006, is seeing a resurgence of interest, prompting an extension of the deadline for submitting purchase offers to February 15, 2024. It represents a two-month extension from the original December 15 deadline. [Read More]
In a significant ruling last week, New York’s highest court opened the door for Democrats to redraw the state’s congressional districts, a critical move as the party aims to gain control of the U.S. House in the upcoming elections. And finally, New York State Police in Wayne County reported a case of mistaken identity leading to grand larceny, after Lyons National Bank branch in the village of Wolcott erroneously deposited over $51,000 in checks into the wrong account. The beneficiary of this bank error, a 51-year-old from Butler, was arrested on a felony charge of grand larceny. The investigation was prompted by the bank’s report on November 28 after realizing the significant deposit error. [Read More]
