The ongoing leadership dispute within the Cayuga Nation has escalated following a legal move by current leader Clint Halftown. On November 13, Halftown’s lawyers filed a request for an injunction against the U.S. Department of Justice. This request, made to the U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C., aims to stop the Justice Department from acknowledging and considering any leadership dispute within the Cayuga Nation. Now, opposition to his leadership are condemning attempts to silence discussions about the unresolved leadership matter. [Read More]
The Bills suffered a devastating loss last night to the Philadelphia Eagles. They had a chance to pull off the upset, as reported by Kyle Evans, but couldn’t get it done in overtime. [Read More]
Time is really running out for thousands of drivers across the Finger Lakes region, as that pandemic-era ‘pass’ on vision tests associated with New York State Driver’s Licenses comes to an end. Here’s the deal: There’s a Dec. 1 deadline for anyone whose license expired between March 1, 2020 and August 31, 2021 and have not yet completed a vision test. To get that settled — visit your local DMV branch. For those who don’t — the state will suspend licenses. [Read More]
The Syracuse Orange closed out the 2023 regular season on Saturday with a 35-31 victory over the Wake Forest Demon Deacons at the JMA Wireless Dome, improving to 6-6 on the season and earning bowl eligibility. Over the weekend we learned about some changes coming to the Cayuga County District Attorney’s Office. Former assistant district attorneys Jonathan Ward, Britton Bouchard, and Richard Pado resigned in late October, and soon, their replacements will begin. Courtney Venditte, Amanda Raub, and Mark Moody, all from the Oswego County District Attorney’s Office will start in the coming weeks. [Read More]
