EXCLUSIVE: Supervisor Jim Kennedy talks campaign, city and county issues, and more in Ontario County
Jim Kennedy was appointed by Geneva City Council to fill a vacancy last September on the Ontario County Board of Supervisors representing Wards 1 and 2. He called it some of the most invigorating work he’s done in his career, and has spent countless hours talking with neighbors and community members about how the county can work better for city residents. He’s running for a full-term this November and joined us in-studio to talk about his campaign and what it means to represent the city at the county-level.
Hooligans hopes to open Macedon location in November
Residents of Macedon eagerly anticipate the grand opening of Hooligan’s Eastside Grill on Route 31, housed in a building with history that stretches back to the ’70s when it was known as Turkey Town. After acquiring the previously neglected building in December, the new ownership — comprising partners Jonathan Oliva, Tony Derosa, and Mike Tasceone — have invested significant effort into extensive renovations.
Geneva City Council decides against provision allowing residents to own hens
Geneva City Council, in its recent review of the city’s zoning code, has decided against provisions for allowing residents to own hens and introducing higher-density housing in a section of undeveloped land in the city’s southern end. The zoning code draft, a 243-page document developed over five years, now moves forward to the Ontario County Planning Board for review, with plans for Council consideration in November.
