Generations Bank President Menzo Case has passed away. The news was shared over the weekend by the Habitat for Humanity of Seneca County in a Facebook post. He led a number of local organizations, in addition to Generations.

Today we continue our series spotlighting local candidates running for office across the Finger Lakes. Tim Lattimore is running for mayor in Auburn. The longtime public servant has held an array of offices and titles in Auburn and Cayuga County, several of which were elected. And this year, he says his campaign for mayor is about building the city for growth. That means better preparing it for young people to buy homes, maintain its environmental resources, and be proactive in public safety.
New York modernizes alcohol laws to allow earlier Sunday sales, expanded licenses
Governor Kathy Hochul has signed into law a package of measures aimed at updating New York’s alcoholic beverage regulations for both consumers and small businesses. The newly approved legislation will expand retail beer sales on Sundays, extend operation hours for liquor and wine stores on Sundays, lengthen the duration of brewer licenses, allow the use of pressurized mixing and dispensing systems, and permit the sales or promotional gifting of specific complementary products related to wine and spirits.
