Governor Kathy Hochul has announced the allocation of $7.4 million in federal funding to reinforce local emergency management agencies across New York State, aimed at enhancing operational readiness and planning for disaster response.

How soon would Bavis leave Waterloo if chosen as Dansville’s next superintendent?
Waterloo’s current Superintendent, Terri Bavis, is in contention for a new role as she recently emerged as one of two finalists for the superintendent position in Dansville. The other candidate was identified as Thomas Frazier, who currently serves as Dansville’s deputy school superintendent. The vacancy comes as current superintendent, Dr. Paul Alioto, prepares for retirement at the close of 2023.
Community split as paid on-street parking resumes in downtown Auburn
Beginning next month, the city of Auburn is set to reinstate its on-street paid parking system in the downtown area, a development met with a spectrum of reactions from local businesses. The Citizen reports that the City had initiated a two-hour free parking scheme in May 2021 to stimulate local commerce during businesses’ recovery period from the COVID-19 pandemic impacts.
Bills defense dominates in blowout win over Commanders
The Buffalo Bills improved to 2-1 with a dominant 37-3 victory over the Washington Commanders on Sunday at FedEx Field, handing them their first loss of the season. Buffalo’s defense shined again, holding Washington to 230 total yards, forcing five turnovers, and tallying nine sacks.
