UPDATE: Troopers say multi-vehicle crash that shut down 5&20 + claimed life happened in work zone
A tragic accident in a work zone on State Route 5&20 resulted in the death of a 74-year-old man and minor injuries to others on Friday. The New York State Police responded to the scene in the town of Aurelius at approximately 1:38 p.m. following reports of a multi-vehicle collision. According to preliminary investigations, a tractor-trailer driven by Raymond E. Swank, 59, of Union Springs, failed to slow down for stopped traffic, colliding with a sedan, which prompted that vehicle to collide with others.
