Authorities searching for truck driver after hit-and-run in Yates County: Motorcyclist injured in wreck
The Yates County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a hit-and-run crash that injured a motorcyclist on Italy Valley Road near the Ontario County line. The incident occurred at approximately 11:00 p.m. on Friday. Joshua A. Presher, 30, of Prattsburg, was riding his motorcycle northbound when a southbound truck crossed the center line and struck him head-on. The truck fled the scene, last seen heading south towards Naples, NY. Presher sustained shoulder injuries and various lacerations.

Diaz III, 27, admitted to second-degree attempted murder, first-degree assault, and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon. Cornell hockey coach Mike Schafer to retire after upcoming season
Cornell men’s ice hockey head coach Mike Schafer announced his retirement at the end of the next hockey season during a Zoom session with hundreds of supporters on Thursday. Casey Jones, a former Cornell assistant and current head coach at Clarkson, will return as associate head coach this season and assume the head coach role in 2025.

This week Governor Kathy Hochul announced the launch of the New York Mobile ID, a digital version of a state-issued driver license, learner permit, or non-driver ID. Available for both iOS and Android users, this mobile ID can be downloaded through Google Play or the App Store by anyone with a valid state-issued ID.
