Auburn City School District narrows superintendent search down to two: Who are the finalists?
The Auburn Enlarged City School District Board of Education announced Dr. Misty Slavic and Dr. Tanya Wilson-Thevanesan as the two finalists for the district’s superintendent position. The current superintendent, Jeff Pirozzolo, is set to retire on January 5, 2025, after serving since 2015.

The Seneca County Industrial Development Agency (IDA) board unanimously approved a financial aid package for Groggery Development LLC, supporting the redevelopment of the former Fayette Hotel into apartments and retail space. The package includes a payment-in-lieu-of-taxes (PILOT) agreement valued at $75,631 over 10 years and a $28,000 exemption from state and local sales tax on materials. [Read More]

The Ithaca Police Department, Bangs Ambulance, and the Ithaca Fire Department found three injured people: the motorcycle operator, a passenger, and a pedestrian. Former Cayuga County probation officer sentenced for official misconduct
Former Cayuga County Probation Department officer Nicholas “Nick” G. Flanigan was sentenced to five years of probation for falsifying business records and three years for official misconduct. Both sentences will run concurrently.
