One firefighter hospitalized, dozens called in to battle massive brush fire near Cayuga Lake

Firefighters from eight Tompkins County departments raced to control a series of brush fires along East Shore Drive on Friday evening, leading to road closures on both East Shore Drive and Route 13 near Ithaca. The fires spread quickly, prompting the Tompkins County Department of Emergency Response to call in all available crews to assist the Lansing and Ithaca fire departments.
