The former Rochester police officer who was sentenced to weekends in jail for having sex with a child under 15 in Ontario County is heading back to jail again. Shawn Jordan pleaded guilty to a felony charge of disseminating indecent material to a minor and child endangerment after admitting he exposed himself to a 16-year-old girl on video. In 2022, he pleaded guilty to raping a girl under 15 in Bristol.

A Savannah woman has been arrested after a child was hospitalized from exposure to a controlled substance. Emily A. Taylor was taken into custody following the discovery of additional controlled substances at her residence after the January 29 incident. Both Taylor and William Smith, another resident arrested earlier, face multiple charges related to possession, assault, and child endangerment.
A large turnout at a VFW fundraiser in Ovid showed strong community support for fire victims. Residents, including those who lost homes, expressed hope while emphasizing the need to rebuild key businesses such as the local grocery store. Donations continue to pour in under the community's rallying slogan, "Ovid Strong."
A snow removal reminder from the Village of Cato sparked resident debate over whether responsibilities or policies have changed. While residents noted that the village used to clear sidewalks, officials explained that this service was always a courtesy and delays are now due to equipment shortages.
