Firefighters confront hazardous materials incident in Canandaigua
Firefighters in Canandaigua responded to a hazardous materials incident early Saturday after detecting dangerous chemical fumes in a Ward 3 residence. Crews identified elevated levels of ammonia and carbon monoxide, traced to a leaking RV-style refrigerator, and worked with Ontario County’s Hazardous Materials team to resolve the threat. Residents were evaluated at FF Thompson Hospital and are reported to be in stable condition.
