Two airlifted from head-on Palmyra crash that shut down Rt. 31
Two helicopters were requested to the scene of a serious crash on State Route 31 in Palmyra on Saturday. While details were limited, family members of one of the occupants took to a local Facebook group to share an update late-Saturday. One of the individuals airlifted was going to be under care of the hospital for at least a week.

An early Saturday morning incident on Slaterville Road in Ithaca led to serious injuries for a pedestrian and charges against the driver. New York State Police reported that a 19-year-old Ithaca College student was struck by a vehicle while walking along the 1500 block of the road. [READ MORE]
A Thruway maintenance worker, Mark Vara, 58, remains in guarded condition following a tragic accident on Interstate 90 near exit 47 last Thursday afternoon. Vara and his colleague, 62-year-old Vincent Giammarva, were struck by a truck while working in a designated work zone. Giammarva was pronounced dead at the scene. Another crash, which happened in the town of Aurelius in another work zone, according to state police, resulted in one fatality as well. [Read More]
