After a grueling seven-hour battle, fire crews from across Tompkins County contained a large brush fire that scorched 8-10 acres between East Shore Drive and Cayuga Heights Road in Lansing. The blaze, which started Friday evening, threatened nearby homes but was ultimately contained without damage to residences, thanks to the coordinated efforts of multiple fire departments.
