Authorities are investigating an early morning house fire that left several people injured on Saturday in Dresden. The Yates County Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies and multiple fire departments responded to a blaze at 65 Main Street around 1:26 a.m. Dresden, Penn Yan, and West Lake Road fire departments worked to contain the fire, with mutual aid provided by nearby departments, including Himrod and Branchport Keuka Park.

This one’s worth repeating: Yesterday we brought you a story about PFAS contamination that new tests are showing have spread from the former Seneca Army Depot into Seneca Lake. Kendaia Creek, which drains the center of the former depot, had the highest readings by far, followed by Reeder Creek and Indian Creek. The findings tend to support previous state tests that found fish in Kendaia Creek had very high levels of PFAS. [More]
