Canandaigua firefighters called back to area where homes were evacuated after another gas line is struck
Several homes on North Bloomfield Road were evacuated Thursday after construction workers accidentally struck a gas line. Firefighters quickly responded, detecting high gas levels and ordering evacuations as a precaution. On Friday, the Canandaigua Fire Department released a statement detailing a second response to another gas main incident, emphasizing the severity of the situation. In a separate statement, the fire department highlighted the increasing strain on its services.

The City of Geneva is once again searching for a developer to transform a nearly 1-acre parcel along South Exchange Street that has remained vacant since the 1970s.
