Ontario County urges radon testing to prevent health risks
Ontario County Public Health is encouraging residents to test their homes for radon, a potentially dangerous gas that is colorless, odorless, and tasteless. Radon exposure is a leading cause of lung cancer among non-smokers and poses a preventable health risk. Radon test kits are available through the New York State Department of Health for $12.25, which covers the cost of the testing device, lab analysis, and postage.
