NEW OVERNIGHT: Authorities investigating fatal head-on crash in Yates County
New York State Police are investigating a deadly two-car collision that occurred on State Route 14 in the town of Starkey on Wednesday. The crash involved a southbound 2017 Chevy Equinox and a northbound 2010 GMC Sierra, resulting in a head-on impact around 4:06 p.m. One person died, and another was airlifted to a hospital in Rochester.

Jeffrey Kuney was sentenced to 20 years in prison Wednesday in Ontario County Court for first- and third-degree rape. The sentencing followed his conviction for a 2021 assault against a woman in his Canandaigua home.
