HIGHWAY BUILDING: The residents of Gorham have spoken. The Town Board will have to go back to the drawing board on a plan to build a $5.5 million highway facility. There were 509 ballots cast in opposition to the bond resolution; and just 162 in favor. Residents showed up in force to a Town Board meeting earlier this month calling the Town's plan to build a brand new highway facility 'excessive'. Many residents said they would have liked to see options, and been given a greater voice in the process. The Town Board also had to cancel a special meeting that was slated for Wednesday night, after it failed to get proper public notices out ahead of it. [READ MORE]
