Officials say quick-thinking chaperones and driver avert tragedy in fiery Wayne school bus crash
A fiery collision between a school bus and passenger vehicle on Wednesday afternoon at the intersection of Lake Road and State Route 250 in Webster led to one fatality, but no serious injuries to students. The bus, transporting 22 high school students and three adults, was returning from a field trip. Authorities are still investigating the incident to ascertain the cause of the crash. Webster Assistant Fire Chief Steve Kozak told local media that the bus was significantly damaged with the car lodged into its side.

Ontario County man hospitalized after shooting: Investigators try to determine where it happened
Authorities say an Ontario County man was hospitalized with a gunshot wound in Rochester late-Wednesday. The 24-year-old was taken to Rochester General Hospital with a gunshot wound via private vehicle. Police said the victim was transported to the hospital around 8:15 p.m. and his injuries were not life threatening. It’s unclear at this point where the shooting took place.
Two structures destroyed in Seneca Falls after afternoon fire
A major structure fire was reported on Demont Road in Seneca Falls on Wednesday around 12:07 p.m., prompting immediate response from an array of agencies in the area. Upon reaching the location, police found one building fully engulfed, with the fire having already spread to an adjacent structure. The rapid response from Seneca Falls Fire Department and several other local fire agencies ensured the fire was promptly contained and extinguished.
