State audit finds scanners at NY stores 31% higher than marked: Seneca and Tompkins spotlighted in report
An audit by New York State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli has revealed that several counties are failing to adequately test retail prices and measuring devices, risking overcharges for consumers. The audit found that some counties are not routinely checking price scanners, scales, or other devices used in stores and gas stations.
