UPDATE: The crash that left a portion of Floral Avenue in the city of Ithaca shut down for hours a few days ago was closed again on Thursday. A new report says the state has outpaced every other in the U.S. Officials say $542 million in taxes has been collected, plus another $200 million in licensing fees. It means a grand total of more than $740 million, with $1 billion in annual revenue for the state a possibility. There are more than 11.3 million unique player accounts with more than 985 million transactions being completed since January. We've linked to the full-report on the website here. [READ MORE]
NO NEW DISTRICTS: Voters in Steuben County shot down a proposal that would have reduced the total number of legislative districts from 13 to 11. Proposition #1 on ballots in Steuben was defeated by a 10 point margin. Just 44% of those who showed up to the polls voted in favor of it. Had it been approved, Districts #6 and #8 would have been eliminated. The communities within the districts would've been incorporated into those surrounding it. Officials said the lines were drawn based on 2020 census. The Steuben County Legislature can either propose a new plan and put it in front of voters or move on. It's unclear at this point which option they will exercise. [READ MORE]
