Couple pleads not guilty in Canandaigua dog attack case
A couple accused in a dog attack that seriously injured a father and his 10-year-old son in Canandaigua pleaded not guilty to assault and reckless endangerment charges on Wednesday. Casey Murphy, 27, and Madison Herendeen, 26, were arraigned in Canandaigua City Court following the August 29 incident on South Main Street.

Rejecting arguments by Greenidge Generation LLC, a state Supreme Court judge will allow three environmental groups to argue against the company’s bid for an injunction to save its Dresden power plant. The state DEC is poised to enforce an order to shut down the plant on Nov. 1 after it denied the company a new Title V air emissions permit. The agency said the plant has failed to comply with the state’s 2019 climate act. [Read More]

A Canandaigua resident was arrested Wednesday for menacing a police officer and criminal impersonation following an August incident where he allegedly threatened an officer with a samurai sword. William R. Pealo, 42, faces charges after police say he confronted an officer on August 6, 2024, during an unrelated investigation.
