Hospital Margins Matter: Report Shows it Impacts Outcomes for New Yorkers
A new report found New York hospitals are in a precarious financial state. The New York State Hospitals Fiscal Survey Report showed statewide hospitals are projecting an operating budget margin of 0.0% percent. While it is a slight improvement, hospital administrators said it is still insufficient for hospitals to handle patient care.

A lake-effect snow event is getting underway across the Finger Lakes and Genesee Valley, with hazardous travel conditions expected through Friday morning. The National Weather Service has issued Winter Weather Advisories for much of the region, including Monroe, Ontario, Seneca, and Cayuga, Wayne, Yates, and Tompkins counties, as a combination of snow, strong winds, and blowing snow poses risks for drivers.
